Reading Confetti has a virtual book club that features a different author each month. It has been going on all year but
I have just learned of it and was excited to participate! The author for this
month is Nick Sharratt. We checked out several of his books and enjoyed them
all!
The book we ended up choosing do make an art project with was Foggy Foggy Forest! This book is fun because the paper is see-through (vellum) with shapes of the forest. You try to guess what the shapes will be and then turn the page to see the shapes in the forest come to life with colors.
For the art project we had a few extra kids at the house because of a day off of school and it was a fun project for various ages. The kiddos loved using the oil pastels and thinking of what was going to go into their foggy forest scene. Hornet liked the rhyming that went with the story so he made a lizard wizard! One of the girls went with the five little pumpkins. Another kiddo started with pumpkins but then switched to moons (she really got into making the moons as you will see in her pic). To display them we taped them to the window and they really look awesome!
