“Free
paintings” (if you don’t have any then create some using the ideas given
above)
Scissors
Pencil

needle (or just tape around the end of the yarn)

1.
Cut triangles from “free paintings”.
2.
On the back of the triangles mark a dot where your kiddo should hole punch.
3.
Kiddo punches holes (they may need a little help with this).
4.
Cut a piece of yarn and tape it to the back of the triangle.
5.
Either use a plastic needle or put a little tape around the end.
6.
Teach your kiddo how to sew the yarn through the holes while pulling the yarn
all the way through each time.
*I found it best to do one at the same time they were doing one so they could glance over to mine and also so I didn’t take over theirs when they were going through the holes a bit crazy. The crazy turned out pretty cute!
7.
When finished sewing, tape the yarn to the back and trim if needed.
8.
Put tacky glue all over the back.
9.
Put on the front part of a blank card. You can add a star too if you want.
10.
Put a heavy book on top until it is dry.

paper (we cut ours in half lengthwise) Black marker (we used Sharpie) Hole punch White or yellow paper Pencil Markers (you could also use bingo dobbers) |
1.
Black marker a scene.
2.
Hole punch for lights.
3.
For some holes you will need to fold the paper and punch the hole in the
middle.
4.
Put light colored paper below and mark holes. I paper clipped it so it wouldn’t
shift.
5.
Use marker to color dots on the marks.
6.
Glue the back of the top paper.
7.
Press the papers together making sure that the marker lines up with the hole
punches.

Log
cut into 3-4 inches with 1/4” hole drilled

paper (we used foam paper) cut into strips

pom poms, etc

1.
Kids cut green strip into 4-5 sections from long to short.
2. Kids decorate strips with sequins and pom poms. Glue strips onto pencil. Add star.
3.
Let dry.
4.
Glue pencil into hole in log piece. Display!

(I precut the yarn to 4 yards – you can put a piece of tape on the end to be
like a needle)

1.
Punch 7 holes across the bottom and one on the top.
2.
Tape the yarn on the back near the first bottom.
3.
Lace the yarn through the bottom hole through top hole. Continue through all
of the holes. Tape of the end on the back.
4.
Add a star and sequins!

The
kids played with mint scented (just add mint extract) green, red, white w/ glitter play dough and Christmas cookie
cutter shapes.
