So
I saw the Tape Resist with Finger Paint for names a while ago (not sure where) and
have been wanting to try it. I then saw a blog post from Almost Unschoolers for
Scented Finger Paint and since my kindergartener is studying the 5 senses at
school and I am working on names with my younger ones at home it just worked
perfectly to combine the two ideas into one for

Since
I couldn’t remember where I saw the tape resist and didn’t know which tape and
paper would work best we did this fun experiment below to make it easier on
you! We chose 4 different types of paper and 5 different types of tape to
see which would work best. There are several good options that you can use which I labeled in the picture below with smiley faces. If they didn't work well then I didn't label them in the picture. For our
names we used finger paint paper and painters tape.
*For fun try saying the title 5 times – a bit of a mouthful :)
* In Almost Unschooler’s post they use a homemade recipe for finger paint– we used store bought that I had already but I can’t wait to try her recipe.

1. Tape down name

2.
Shake spices into finger paint and mix! Smell the different scents!
3.
Paint all over page from side to side and top to bottom! The more coverage the
better!
4.
Let dry and peel off tape (I used tweezers but if you have long
fingernails that would probably do the trick).
5.
