Mummies in the Morning is the third book in the Magic Tree House Series by Mary Pope Osborne. Our Pre-K Book Club enjoyed this book! The host mom started off the morning by asking the kids some Egypt, pyramid and mummy questions from information they learned in the book. The kids then did a mummy wrap, wrote their names in hieroglyphics and had a mummy snack. Stay tuned for books 4-8 in the months to come!

Book Discussion
The mom that hosted this month had written a list of questions from the book and asked the kiddos the questions, making sure that everyone got a chance. She gave them a little hard candy when they answered correctly.

other key points or favorite parts of the book. You could also use this time

Mummy Wrap
A classic activity that the kids really enjoyed! Some kiddos really wanted to be the mummies all wrapped up and some definitely did not.

1. Kids get in
partners. One partner is the mummy and the other is the wrapper. The mummy
gets wrapped up from head to toe in toilet paper so they look like a mummy!
We had a race.
*The kids can switch and do it again if both want a turn at being the mummy. |
Hieroglyphic Names
The kids had fun with this. Some wanted to write more than their names.
