Beautiful Letter B (Alphabet Wall)

This is the week of B. There are so many different directions to go with “B”… birds, bugs, bubbles, bubblegum, blue, barbies, etc. As the week went on we kept thinking of so many “b” words and it was fun to see Roly Poly making the sound to letter connection!

For the rest of the Alphabet, go HERE!

Beautiful B for
(Seedlings ~ preschool age)...

What we did for the Beautiful Letter B?...
Alphabet Wall:
*Button on the B ~
We just glued down some buttons!
We also have done…
*Bubble Print B ~ see Art/Craft section for "how to".

Books:
*Read Bubble Bear  (Alpha Tales book) and The AB Book (Bob Book Pre-Reader)

*Read a Bubble book ~ Pop! A Book About Bubbles by Margaret Miller and Bubble Homes and Fish Farts by Fiona Bayrock – a very interesting book with a funny title!

*Read a couple Button books ~ Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons by James Dean and Buttons by Brock Cole

Art/Crafts:
*Bubble prints ~ mix colored paint (or food coloring – we think this makes the most vibrant colored bubbles), dish soap and water in cups. Swirl around and then blow with a straw (Important - Have your child practice blowing out first so they don’t drink up the bubble water!). Bubbles will form over the top of the cup and you can take paper and place it on top to make fun bubble prints! This is messy so put down a table cover first – outside works great. For a less messy version of bubble prints check out our Bubble and Fish Prints that we did with bubble wrap (you can skip the fish).

*Balloon prints ~ see our Balloon Caterpillar instructions here

*Blue Discovery Bottles ~ One with water and dried out blue markers. The other one with water/soap and blue items – glitter, pompoms, eyeballs, felt, yarn, straws, beads  -  we predicted which items would float or sink before we put them in.
Activities:
*Bubble experiments ~ from Science Experiments that Fizz and Bubble by Jodi Wheeler-Toppen. We did bubble juice, sizzling soda and personal puffer! Such fun!

*Baked bread ~ (Amish Friendship bread and Whole Wheat bread - I am not a baker so this is a big deal for me)

Letter Formation:
*B with paint bag

Music and Movement:
*A Bouncy Blue Balloon song ~ fun song from DLKT!

*Balloons in the air ~ we blew up a couple blue balloons and played “Don’t Let it Touch the Ground”!

Snack:
*Bread and Bananas ~ you could also have beans, blueberries, berries, biscuits, bagels, and more. What other B-foods can you think of?
